Job Title:
Software Engineer
Job Duties:
Develop computer software programs, analyze customer needs and develop software solutions. Research, design,
develop, and test operating systems-level software, compilers, and network distribution software for business
computing applications. Perform coding, implementation and construction; component testing and runtime analysis;
set operational specifications and formulate and analyze software requirements, and apply principles and techniques
of computer science, engineering, and mathematical analysis. Consult with management, technical and end-users to
determine the current technical and functional operations of software design and security, and provide consultation
to senior management to define and implement strategic plans to enhance messaging platform and other functional or
technical solutions to increase data usability and availability. Serve as a resource to troubleshoot existing
solutions, facilitate requirement sessions with clients, create design and technical documentation, and train users.
Manage and lead the Development Team; work with the Project Manager on definition of development requirements and
priorities; interfaces with other systems; set up and maintenance of security rights (WEB technology) and access
permissions; contributing to technical strategy, policy and procedure; production of technical documentation to
agreed quality standards; report on progress/issues to management and users; manage project deliverables in line
with the project plan; record and manage project issues and provide fixes; resolve cross-functional issues at
project level; provide final approval of the design specification; work closely with users to ensure the
project meets business needs; definition and management of the User Acceptance Testing program;
identify user training needs and devise and manage user training programs; work with Implementation Engineering
staff to develop software packages and workflows in Tivoli Provisioning Manager v7.1; demonstrate advanced
understanding of business processes, internal control risk management, IT controls and related standards;
act as subject matter expert in IBM WebSphere Portal and Pervasive technologies.
Requirements:
This position requires a Bachelor's degree in Engineering or Computer Science followed by two years of
progressive experience as a Software Engineer, Developer or related position. Working knowledge of Tivoli
Provisioning Manager v7.1 and WebSphere Portal & Pervasive technologies is also required.
Salary:
Work full-time in Bloomington, Illinois area with a wage of at least $74,000/yr.
